In any democratic institution, decision-making power is shared among its members. Similarly, within a family, each member can have a say in the decision-making processes, ensuring that everyone's opinions and perspectives are taken into account. Democratic principles such as open communications, mutual respect, and consensus-building can be applied within a family to create an inclusive and Democratic environment. Encouraging our community to share and spread the importance of the Family Unit is the best way for governmental representatives to promote a reciprocal sense of equality, encourage active participation, and develop important skills like compromise, negotiation, and empathy. This can help strengthen family bonds and create a harmonious and cooperative atmosphere within our community. Unfortunately, some of our local and State representatives have pledged their allegiances to anarcho-communist principles, which by its nature, seeks to abolish hierarchical structures, including the family unit as an institution. Anarcho-communists advocate for what they call community-based child-rearing, where the responsibility of raising children is not solely placed on individual families but shared among the community and welfare system. This includes indoctrination of the youth through an educational system that advocates for anarchism and communism using Marxist principles.
